Tax rate increase

A Carleton Station resident said the one-time tax rate increase was too large and residents weren't properly notified by mail, noting her city tax bill is nearly as high as her county bill. She asked for an official notification letter and more gradual increases going forward.

A widowed senior on a fixed income advocated for the full 20-cent increase, saying spreading the cost across all residents is fairer than cutting jobs and programs.
